Man U Vs Chelsea

I'm very disappointed that Unied have not have extended their lead at the top of the premiership to 6 points after drawing 1-1 with Chelsea this evening.

We completely dominated the 1st half in midfield by Man Utd, with Carrick(great signing, Tottenham arent the same without him) and Scholes getting the better of Chelsea's diamond formation. Our goal came when possession was wom in our half and a quick counter attack was started with Giggs laying the ball across to an unmarked Rooney who quickly found Saha, Saha looking as if he had it all to do with both Chelsea central defenders bearing down on him, quickly shifted the ball onto his stronger left foot, then waited for his chance. Carvalho attempted to block his shot but Saha brilliantly curled the ball around him and just inside the post. All has been forgiven for his penalty miss, this goal was special.

We continued to be the stronger team in the 1st half, having some good chances though Giggs and Saha again. At this point i was thinking that we could have been 2 up on them, shame.

In the 2nd half Chelsea came out the stronger side using their superior strength in the making of substitutions that comes with the bottomless pockets of Abramovich. Chelsea had the vast amount of possession but our great defense was able to limit any chances to weak long range efforts, Lampard certianly cant beat Van Der Saar from that range. Again we had the best chances in the 2nd half with Ronaldo looking certain to score when the ball broke to him at the start of the half, but he couldn't react quickly enough the driven cross from Rooney.

Chelsea some how managed to score when Carvalho rose above the defence and headed the ball past Van Der Saar. It was appsolutely heart wrenching to have defended the corner so badly and to have not put the game out of sight earlier.

The result was acceptable to the extent that we remain 3 points clear of Chelsea coming into a busy Christmas period, although injuries to Saha and Ronaldo late in the game could prove the most important outcome in the match.
